Artists at Work
This year the theme for science week is Deep Blue: innovations for the future of our oceans.
Fish

After viewing creatures that live in the ocean the students in Rooms 2, 3, 21 and 28 created these great fish. Some students drew their own fish others worked with fish already cut out. They painted the fish in acrylic paint and then added patterns using stickers. They look terrific hanging in front of the ocean waves created earlier in the term.

Jellyfish
The students in Room 27 created jellyfish swimming in the ocean. They drew stencils for the bodies, lightly stuck these on with sticky tape and added tentacles with white wax crayon. The page was then sprayed with dye to create cool colours. After removing the jellyfish bodies the students worked with soft pastel and the element of value to colour the jellyfish in warm colours.
