Principals Report

Principal - Natalie Burns.jpg

Assemblies are back!

Last week we held our first campus assembly since term one. It felt like a long time since we had all been together in the undercover area, and there was a great community feel. The whole campus joined in singing a song together at the end of the assembly which was a lovely way to celebrate.

The year fours from the primary school who performed, delivered a strong message about recycling and keeping our school clean, which is an important message and very timely as we have our new recycling and general permanent rubbish bins installed throughout the school.

Parent representatives for our School Board

We are seeking new representative for our School Board. As an independent public school the board verifies outcomes met in the business plan, and endorses the financial planning of the school. They represent the views of parents, staff and the school community. The board meets twice a term on a Monday evening. If you would like more information about being on our school board as a parent or community representative, please get in touch with the school.

Funding

Recently funding was announced by the State Government as part of the COVID-19 Road to Recovery program for schools in WA.  Joondalup Primary School has received $350,000 for upgrades to the schools carparks and Joondalup ESC received $300,000 for increased accessibility throughout the school, such as ramps, walkways etc.

Discussions on both of these projects are underway.

IEP’s

IEP’s are being finalised and will be sent home to families next week. All families have had the opportunity to meet with teachers, or speak with them on the phone to discuss outcomes for this semester. When IEP’s are sent home please sign and return them, to inform the school you agree with these outcomes. A copy will then be sent home.
