This Term, Room 9 are learning about celebrations during our HASS sessions.

Did you know, Tuesday 19 May is ‘National Plant a Vegetable Garden Day”? To recognise the day, we planted our own beans.

Mrs Rushworth read a story called “I am Your New Plant”  which taught us that plants need soil, water and sun to grow.  We filled a pot with soil, then planted our bean in it. During the story we learnt that plants need water to grow so we gave our newly planted bean a drink of water. 

We have all started a journal in which we will record how tall our bean grows.  To help them grow, we will have to remember to put our bean plants outside in the sunshine each day.  Each week we will measure the height of our plants and record the data.
