Room 7 Rocks!
Wow what a term we have had! There have been so many events, special days and great opportunities for fun learning experiences. The students chose one of their favourites to talk about.
Before the last holiday break we wrote postcards to each other and then posted them so we could receive news from a friend during the holiday. It was exciting receiving a postcard in the mail.
ISABELLE – I love writing. I wrote a letter to Vision and he wrote one to me.

At the beginning of this term we celebrated NAIDOC week and met Mr Nannup who told us stories of the Dreaming and taught us dances that also told stories. He taught us about how a didgeridoo is made and played it for us.
This term we have enjoyed doing Music Rocks with Ben and Sam, and some of our lucky students even performed at The Badlands with many other students who don’t go to Joondalup ESC. It’s so fun to meet other rock band musicians!
LUKE – Music Rocks is my favourite. I liked playing at The Badlands. It was cool!

The circus incursion was fun too! We juggled plates, luckily they were made from plastic!
MANGAR – I like the circus. I balanced spinning plates.

Another exciting learning day for us was during science week when we joined with our Buddy Class Room 6 and discovered interesting facts about the planets and the moon. There were many fun work stations where we were able to play with chocolate moon rocks and moon sand. We even got to wear rocket blasters and blast our way into space!
Mangar and Luke were selected to go on an excursion to SciTech West with Mr Critchley and students from Joondalup Primary School.

In September we joined in the Combined Education Support Sports Carnival at Beldon and that was a really fun day! We all tried our best and encouraged our friends to do the same.
HINE – I liked throwing the chook and running fast on sports day.

One of the special events days we were part of was Wellness Day where we moved around the school doing activities with our Buddy Class Room 6. We talked about how we can make ourselves be happy and healthy, and how we can help others to have a good day!
Vision – Wellness day dress up.

The Book Week assembly was a great success. ’Reading is my super power’ was the theme and performing on stage in front of the school and parents was very exciting. Room 7 students love a dress-up!

Lapis (aka Lila) – I loved Book Week because it’s awesome. I was a Japanese girl and Cardcapter Sakura.
Lily – At assembly I was Elsa, a princess. I sang!
Zander – I like Mrs Lahti’s Busy Bees!
