Room 1
At the start of Term 3, Room 1 welcomed two new students to our class - Griffin and Jake. That gives us 8 students in our class and we’d like to share a bit about what we have been doing.
HASS – Around the World
Our topic for HASS this Term is “Around the World”. We have been learning about the continents and oceans. There are 7 continents and 5 oceans. The continents are Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Antarctica, Australia and Europe. The oceans are Atlantic, Indian, Pacific, Southern and Arctic. The countries we have been looking at are Brazil, South Africa, USA and Canada. We have been having fun learning about our world – its people, the activities they enjoy, the food they eat and the animals found there.

Health
In Health, we have continued our healthy eating work and have learnt about the importance of drinking water. We learnt that to keep our bodies healthy, we need to drink 2L of water each day. We measured how much water our own water bottles hold and therefore how many bottles we need to drink.
Science Week
Our class just loves Science! During Science Week we learnt lots about Space. When we arrived at school an asteroid had landed in the sensory garden. It made a big hole! With Mr Critchley, we entered our Space Training Centre. We got to experience lots of different aspects of space including trying dry ice cream and using the VR headsets to enter into space. We even got special space lunch orders.
“I loved Science Week” James
“I really liked all of Science week” Nathan

Health and Wellness Day
On Friday 30th August, we celebrated Health and Wellness Day.
“My favourite activity was when we dressed up. I wore glasses, hat, a yellow t-shirt and very tight jeans. I also liked Just Dance.” Max
“My favourite part of the day was when we learnt about fruits. We got to try all the different fruits. I only liked the watermelon”. Jake
