Principals Report

PJ Day
On Wednesday staff and students on the campus had the opportunity to stay in their pajamas all day! Many staff and students wore their pj’s and gave a gold coin donation, which was to raise funds for our sister school, Srang Primary in Cambodia.
Health and Wellbeing Day
Congratulations to everyone that participated in the Health and Wellness Day. It was fantastic to see all staff and students engaged in their activities and having fun. A big thank you to Miss Mercer and her team for organising this for Joondalup Schools. The feedback from staff and students has been extremely positive.
Online Safety for Parents and Carers
As parents and carers, you know your child better than anyone and have the best opportunity to support and guide them to have safer online experiences. The Office of the eSafety Commissioner is Australia's leader in online safety. Their website offers a downloadable guide which covers some of the key online safety issues for young people and includes a range of practical tips and advice on what to do if things go wrong. You can also find a list of important services that can offer extra support. Please visit https://esafety.gov.au/parents/ for further information.
P&C Support
Our P&C have recently organised bottles of sunscreen for each classroom. Perfect timing as the weather becomes warmer. Students are encouraged to put sunscreen on before play times.
Our P&C also approved the funds to donate a mud kitchen for our Junior Playground. The mud kitchen has been purchased and installed in one of our sand pits in the Junior Playground (where the boat used to be.) Huge thank you to Ms. Bennett for coming up with this idea, and organising it for our campus. Also a big thank you to Mr Townsend for installing it. The students are loving all the role play opportunities in our play areas.
ESNN Sports Carnival
On Tuesday the Education Support North Network Carnival was held. All schools made their way to Beldon Schools and the carnival was hosted by Beldon Education Support Centre. This year running races were held in the morning, followed by tabloid sports in the afternoon. The weather was absolutely perfect for the day, and families, students and staff had a great time. I was so proud of how respectful and responsible our students were on the day. Students cheered for one another, wished each other luck, and congratulated them on doing their best regardless of where they finished in races.

2020 Class Room Personal Items Lists
Next year we will be using a new supplier – Ziggy’s Educational Supplies. In Term 4 we will be sending home Personal Items Lists for the following year. If you are unfamiliar with Ziggy’s, they are a local company based in Joondalup. We made the decision to use Ziggy’s as our preferred supplier next year with Joondalup Primary School because their prices were extremely competitive, and there are so many options for families to access materials for the following year. Families on average will save up to $20 compared with last year.
