Sports Update
Interschool Cross Country
This year the effort of the Joondalup students was nothing short of run-derful. August 7th saw students from Joondalup Primary Schools race against Springfield Primary School, Edgewater Primary School and Currumbine Primary School at the Interschool Cross Country with our schools finishing second overall.
Karan and Malachi joined the Running Club and were involved in lunch time training at the school. This was a magnificent effort by the boys and demonstrated their great commitment skills. As a result, Karan made the Interschool team as a competitor and Malachi was a reserve.
Thank you to all the parents and guardians that came down to support the students. It is always fantastic to have great supporters to create a positive atmosphere for the students to compete in.
A special mention to Rebecca Carstairs and Mrs Egan for your wonderful work on the day and training the students leading up to the event. Running Club has been a big step in the right direction for the Cross Country preparation and your efforts in helping the students have been nothing short of amazing. Thank you.
Running Club will now be two times a week, Monday and Thursday from 8:15am-8:45am. If you are in Year 3,4,5 or 6 then you know it is never too late to join in the fun. All students are welcome to attend.
If you would like to compete in more cross country events, please contact the Joondalup Little Athletics Centre on 0424 068 141, via e-mail admin@jlac.org.au or by visiting their website at http://www.jlac.org.au/.
