Principal's Report

93.jpg

Kaya,

It has been another busy few weeks at school, and all parents will be receiving student reports today. It will be sent electronically to the email address we have. If we have two email addresses (e.g. both parents/carers have given us an address) the report has been sent to both. You will have received the report as a link. I recommend you download and save the report via the link as it will only remain active for four weeks. If you would like to meet with the teacher to discuss your child’s progress, please get in touch. There will be some families who may be contacted by teachers for a meeting too. We anticipate IEP’s will be sent home in Week 4 next term.

Excursions

Our students have been busy out in the community with students enjoying the opportunity to go to Ape Escape during Physical Education lessons over the past two weeks. We have also had middle primary students attend an excursion to Cockman House, and senior students accessing our local IGA. Most recently some senior students performed to a number of other schools in the annual Education Support Performing Arts Concert. They had the audience joining in with the fun drumming songs they performed.

Open Board Meeting

Next term the Board will be hosting an open meeting, held on Monday 18 August 6:00pm in the staff room and lead by Mrs Hwee Peng Tan (our Board Chair). If you are interested in any aspects of the running of the school, then please join us for this meeting.

Parent Morning Tea

We will be hosting a Parent Morning Tea on Wednesday 3 September from 8:50am. This session will have a representative from NDIS who will be able to walk families through the process and what it means to self-manage or have someone manage your child’s plan. Early next term we will advertise more details.

Save the date – NAIDOC Week Picnic

Wednesday 30 July 2025 will be the school’s NAIDOC Week Picnic.

Garden Club

Some of our students have been attending Garden Club which is held once a week after school. Next term Mrs Bennett and Sue Schwerdt  are hanging up their gardening gloves and putting away the shovels so Garden Club will not be running. I would like to acknowledge the outstanding work of Mrs Bennett who has shared her gardening expertise and enthusiasm with many students over the years. She has been supported by several staff including Mrs Schwerdt. Thank you also to the parents who have come to Garden Club to help with projects.

Thank you P&C!

On behalf of the students and staff, I would like to thank the P&C Association for their very generous donation allowing the school to install permanent AFL goals, soccer goals and some outdoor picnic tables and benches. A total donation of $13 500 has made these projects possible and we are beyond grateful.

I would like to wish everyone a happy and safe school holiday. The first day of Term 3 will be Tuesday 22 July.
