Principal's Report

Term 4 feels like it is flying past, and we are in Week 3 already! Today we are having our Public School Review. This is a time where we share what we do as a school with the Director of Public School Accountability, to ensure that our practices align with the department standard. At the end of the day we will be given some verbal feedback, followed by an official report a couple of weeks later. Families, the School Board, P&C, staff and students are all part of the review.
Therapy – finishing Week 8
A reminder that onsite therapy sessions will cease after Week 8. With graduation and end of year activities, students will have a busy end to the year. Therapists have been made aware, please make alternate arrangements with them, so your child can continue to have sessions after Week 8 and during the summer break.
Year 6 camp
Our Year 6 students attended camp last week and had a great time! Camp planning tried to include everyone’s interests, so there was something so everyone. From Fremantle, to movies, to dinner; every student had a chance to shine! Year 6 students are now getting ready for graduation, market day, and having transition sessions to high school. Please enjoy some photos and further camp details in the Year 6 article below.
Year 5 leaders
Our Year 5 students have recently undertaken some activities about leadership. Students had an opportunity to self identify as a potential leader, and express an interest in being a school captain or faction captain next year. Interested students created a speech outlining why they would make a good captain and role model for others. Staff listened to student speeches, and discussed which students may take on this role next year. Staff considered how they engaged in the leadership activities, the information in student speeches, how much the students engage in current events (such as the faction carnival and other lessons) and how they have been a role model for others throughout the year.
Later this year our 2025 student captains will be announced, and they will receive badges at an assembly.
Class lists 2025
We are currently finalising class lists for next year, and anticipate we will be able to share our planning with you in the next couple of weeks. We spend a great deal of time discussing the strengths of students and staff, as well as our physical learning environments to make sure we have classes that will compliment each other and encourage learning. We are still recruiting staff for next year which impacts staff placements.
