Sporting Events

This is our last newsletter for the term! It has been a busy few weeks with swimming, and now getting ready for our faction carnival. Our carnival will be held this Friday at school together with Joondalup Primary School and it is going to be a great day! Please see further information below and on Compass. It would be lovely to see as many families and friends come along as possible.

Camp and upcoming events

Next term our Year 6 students will commence transition to high school, and will be heading off on school camp. We are also in the process of organising our Adventure Week in December which is always a really fun week. You can keep up to date with everything that is going on through Seesaw and Compass. Please ensure you check into Compass regularly as this is where you will need to give your child's consent and payment for upcoming events.

Next week on Thursday 19 September, we will have our Junior Education Support Network Carnival, with a date still to be advised for our senior carnival.

School Review

We have a school review in Term 4. This is where we showcase all the work we are doing, and show how our students are learning and growing. The date of our review is Tuesday 23 October. A director of Public School Review and a Principal come out to do the review.

Unwell students

Thank you to all families who are keeping their children away when they are unwell so they can rest and recover. This season seems to be particularly contagious for colds and other illnesses. When children are sick the best place to be is at home, resting and recovering.

No_parking.JPG

School Parking

To ensure the safety of our students and staff, please use the parking areas and Kiss and Drive located in the surrounds of the school and not the staff parking area, located outside the administration building. This area is clearly signposted for staff parking only and is frequented by school buses in the morning and afternoon. Using this area to drop off and collect students poses a danger to anyone walking across the carpark.

No dogs allowed.png

Dogs on school grounds

There have been a number of incidents where dogs have been tied up outside school grounds and left unattended. At times students have become frightened when a dog has jumped suddenly, or barked unexpectedly, and no one is close by looking after the dog. If you are walking dogs to school please do not leave them unattended. If students are able to walk to class by themselves, it may be an idea to say goodbye at the gate, so you are able to stay with your dog.

Swimming lessons.jpg

Swimming

We survived swimming lessons! Although it was not the best time of the year to go, students made the most of it, and enjoyed swimming every day. Students progressed well with their water awareness and competency, and everyone will have received their certificate by now. This year we were at Aqua Motion, Wanneroo. Having students prepared to go, with oodies, goggles and thongs made everything run extra smoothly.

Next year our swimming lessons will be at Craigie Leisure Centre in Term One, weeks 9 and 10.

RUok.JPG

R U OK? Day

To recognise R U OK? Day this Thursday, students can come to school dressed in yellow and black. No gold coin donation is required. The mission for R U OK? is to get everyone to have more conversations about how they are doing. It is about checking in with family, friends and classmates to help them get through tough times.
