From the Art Room

Welcome to the latest update from our vibrant Art Room!

Our students have been deeply engaged in an exciting project. They are learning all about lines and creating their very own line sculptures. Using strips of colourful paper, students folded and manipulated them in various ways, including wavy, zigzag, spiral, and curved, to construct unique sculptures. This hands-on activity allowed them to experiment with different line types and see their ideas come to life in three-dimensional forms. I was immensely impressed with our student's creativity and originality. Their innovative approaches and enthusiasm for the project have been truly inspiring, showcasing their unique artistic voices and bold experimentation.

Our Year 5 and 6 students are very talented! Recently, they embarked on a captivating ocean wave painting project that allowed them to explore various painting techniques and express their creativity. Students began by painting the background, focusing on the sky, and then moved on to creating the foreground with the ocean wave. This step helped them understand the importance of composition in art. They learned how to blend layers of paint to capture the dynamic movement of ocean waves. By carefully placing brushstrokes to follow the direction of the wave, students achieved a sense of motion and energy in their paintings. To add a unique touch to their artwork, students used their fingers to tap on the waves' white foam, creating a realistic and textured effect that brought their paintings to life.

Stay tuned for more updates on their artistic journey!
