Room 27 has had a great first term!
This term we focussed on ‘The Gruffalo’ as our Talk for Writing text. As our hook activity we went on a scavenger hunt in nature play to see what animals we could find. We found a small brown mouse, a sneaky fox, an old owl, a slithering snake and a huge, scary Gruffalo! After this we begun exploring the text and learnt lots of different actions to match the story as we read it aloud.
During our Talk for Writing sessions, we completed various crafts, sequenced the story and are working on creating our very own stories through the process of innovating.
We also had a very exciting excursion to Highflyers! While we were there we got to jump on the huge trampolines and completed an obstacle course. During the obstacle course we focussed on using different parts of our bodies to help us balance, jump and swing between each station. At the end of the excursion, we were lucky enough to have a go at swinging into the giant foam bit! Everyone had an absolute blast!
