Room 1 has had a busy start to Term 3!

In the first week the students completed a presentation about what they did during the school holidays. We got to see lots of great photos and heard lots of exciting stories! After their presentation, students printed out their pictures and made a poster to hang on our classroom Wow Wall, which summarizes all the fun things they got up to.

We have also begun exploring our new information text, “Emperor Penguins”, for Talk for Writing. As our hook activity, we completed a variety of ice and water activities along with Rooms 2 and 3. There were four different stations which included an ice-breaking challenge, a penguin race, shaving foam craft and ice-painting. It was great to see everyone working together at each of the stations. Students are now in the process of innovating the text and developing their own information report on an animal of their choice.
