Principal's Report

Kaya families
We are almost at the end of Term 1 already, and it has been a very busy term.
Ride to School and Harmony Day
It was a spectacle to see so many students and staff wearing orange, the colour for Harmony Week, and riding and scooting to school on Friday. There was a lovely buzz around the school as lots of families walked, and wheeled into school. Many student decorated bikes, scooters and wheelchairs in orange, and it looked fantastic!
Mr Whitehead and Mrs Perry did much of the organising and all of the staff played their part on the day. all of their work is much appreciated.
I would like to especially thank Woolworths, Joondalup, for their generous donation of bananas, apples and water. Plenty of fruit was eaten, and water drunk on Friday.

Srang School fundraiser – This Friday
We are having a gold coin donation fundraiser this Friday 31 March for Srang School in Cambodia. Come to school dressed in footy colours. It’s AFL Derby weekend! If AFL isn’t your preferred sport, wear your soccer kit, netball uniform or anything sporty.
Srang School is in Cambodia, in one of the poorest provinces. Money raised by Joondalup Schools is used to provide clean water and toilets, teaching materials, and electricity for the school. Every dollar we raise makes a difference for Cambodian children and school staff.
Assembly update
We are hosting the next assembly which will be held on Tuesday 4 April 2023 from 2.15pm. Our middle primary students are performing and running the assembly. It would be lovely to have as many families and friends as possible come to support our students.
P&C Association Easter Raffle
The big Easter Egg draw is taking place on Thursday 6 April 2023. You are running out of time if you haven’t already bought tickets. You can still be part and win some of the Easter Egg haul! To everyone who has bought tickets or donated Easter treats – thank you!
Early Close – Thursday 11 May
All families have received notification about early close on Thursday 11 May. This was done in 2022 with really positive feedback. This year the Primary School will use this date to host parent/teacher meetings while our staff will engage in professional learning.
On our first school development day in Term 3(student free day) Monday 17 July, we will host parent/teacher meetings whilst the primary school engage in professional learning.
Anzac Day Ceremony
The school captains are presenting this year’s Anzac Day ceremony on Thursday 6 April 2023 and the choir will be doing a performance. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Enjoy your Easter break, and school holidays. If you are heading to the derby this weekend, I hope your team have a win!
School returns on Monday 24 April.
Kind regards
