Kaya families and friends, I hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend and the wonderful, but warm weather.

We have a number of activities happening at the school in the coming weeks. Ride to School and Harmony Day will be celebrated on Friday 24 March. Students are encouraged to dress in orange on this day to recognise and celebrate our diversity, inclusiveness and belonging. We will have three points set up outside the school for those students and families who wish to ride/scooter/wheel into school together. Please find details and map below.

Families are encouraged to stay if they are free as we will have our first family morning tea on this day. Morning tea will commence from 9:00am in J Block, and will go for about an hour. It will be an opportunity to say hello, listen to stories about school holidays, ask questions, and discuss if there are any information sessions parents would like held throughout the year. We plan on hosting two family morning teas each term. Morning tea – Friday 24 March from 9:00am.

Families can expect to receive Individual Education Plans home at the end of this week. Please read over your child’s IEP, sign and return it. A signed copy will be printed and returned to you. IEP’s outline what outcomes will be reported on at the end of the semester. They are not a representation of everything being taught at school.

The last assembly of the term will be held on Tuesday 4 April. This assembly will be hosted by our senior students. They are already beginning to think about their item, and will start to practise very soon. If you are free on Tuesday afternoon we would love to see you to support our senior students.

A reminder to purchase tickets for our P&C Easter raffle! We are also asking for donations for prizes, with the biggest prize being a 10 kilo block of Cadbury chocolate! You can purchase tickets online, see the attachment below.
