Associate Principal's Report
Staff news
It’s that time of the year when things are wrapping up. On Thursday we will farewell some staff who have made valuable contributions to the school.
Mr John Pearson has been working in Room 3 for the majority of the year with some of our year 4/5 students. He has been successful in gaining a position in his chosen field in the country and we wish him all the best.
Mrs Lauren Pearson has been working in Room 1 with some of our year 4/5 students and is also off to new adventures in the country and we wish her all the best as well.
Mr Sean Whitehead joined the Joondalup ESC Admin team for 2022. He has been a huge asset throughout the year. Mr Whitehead has won a permanent Associate Principal at Belridge Secondary Education Support Centre. Congratulations to Mr Whitehead and I’m sure some of our graduating students will see him in the future.
Mrs Jacqui Clayton is leaving Joondalup ESC and returning to her previous school of South Ballajura Education Support Centre. Mrs Clayton has shared her knowledge and expertise with the staff and students at Joondalup ESC for the past few years for which we are all grateful. Our loss but definitely South Ballajura’s gain.
Mrs Diane Rushworth is leaving Joondalup ESC after 14 years. Mrs Rushworth has been a dedicated teacher who has worked tirelessly to help students be the best they can be. Mrs Rushworth has been a mentor to many staff over the years, taking time to share her knowledge and expertise with staff, students and parents alike. Mrs Rushworth is also moving on to South Ballajura ESC and they will be very lucky to have her. New adventures are ahead for Mrs Rushworth and we wish her well.
Mrs Helen Sweet is retiring after 41 years as a teacher with most of her career being here at Joondalup Schools. Mrs Sweet began teaching at JESC in 2019 and has shared he passion for The Arts with many of our students and staff. Thank you for all you have done, we will miss you.
Mrs Elizabeth Hore will be taking extended Long Service Leave and enjoying some well-deserved calming adventures. We hope you have a wonderful time Mrs Hore.

Congratulations to the Year 6 Graduating Class for 2022. We had a wonderful ceremony today where we celebrated the end of primary school for our students. I would like to thank the many staff for all of the work they did today (and in the past few weeks) to make the day so special for the students. Graduation is always a team effort with so many of our wonderful staff stepping up for jobs.
Some students were recognised for excellence across a number areas and we extend our congratulations to each of them. A summary of their citation is as follows:

STEM Award | Lilly Quartermaine |

Carols by Candlelight
Two weeks ago we enjoyed a fabulous Carols by Candlelight. It was very well attended and audience feedback was very positive. Thank you to Mrs Rhiannon O’Connor for her expert organisation and musical talent which made the night possible and to Mrs Jayne Butler for her support of the School Choir. Mrs Helen Sweet created another backdrop using leaves and palm fronds for the event. As always, Carols was a team effort. I greatly appreciate the work of staff from across Joondalup Schools who cooked the sausage sizzle, set up, packed away, attended rehearsals and helped on the night.
Enterprise Day
Congratulations to the Year 6s for helping to organise a fantastic Enterprise Day and we think that it was one of our best events yet. Last Friday afternoon children were able to use their tickets to participate in activities and purchase items from stalls that were planned and organised by the Year 6 children.
