Room 9 start the transition to High School
Room 9 have had an exciting Term 3.
We have spent lots of time practicing for the faction carnival and we think our throwing and catching skills are certainly improving! Everyone participated in the Tug of War and the throws and jumps ahead of the carnival. We are sure they have all had a fabulous time during the carnival.

Transition visits have started and our first visit went smoothly. The students were very nervous but excited and had lots of questions about what the high school might look like and be on offer. After our first visit, lots of these questions were answered and they were super impressed with the canteen and it's menu, the library and its range of books and the beautiful gardens including quiet spaces, swinging chairs and recycled art pieces in and around the garden spaces.

We are preparing for camp at the end of this term. Each Wednesday, we have been cooking and preparing different snacks and treats to take with us for our morning and afternoon tea. We have taste-tested our creations and have enjoyed making vegetable muffins, bacon & vegetable slice, chocolate and choc chip muffins, Milo slice and Anzac biscuits. The Year 6s have come up with all of the recipe ideas and put forward suggestions for dinner on our first night. The vote landed on spaghetti bolognaise and we have trialed a recipe that everyone loved!!

On top of all of this, we continue to have fun while learning! Our Maths focus is on our number skills but also measurement and shape. In Literacy we are continuing to work on how to improve our sentences and make them really interesting, and reading a range of texts. Our class is working on showing kindness with the goal of earning 100 kindness hearts by the end of the term. They are showing kindness by helping others, checking in on someone when they are upset or on their own, including and inviting someone to join in with their group. We are so proud of how kind and caring Room 9 students are.
