Hens

The students created a ceramic hen to hang on the wall.

Forks were used to create the texture of feathers. Once the pieces had been bisque fired an oxide stain was painted on to highlight the texture. Underglaze was used to colour the feet, eyes, comb and wattle. A clear glaze was painted over the top to seal it. After the second firing the feet were attached.
