Faction Cross Country
March 18, 2022. A date which will live in infamy. The Joondalup Schools held its annual Cross Country Carnival. “We’re going to run across the whole country!” exclaimed some students at the beginning of Cross-Country training. Sometimes it sure feels like it.
Students can now catch their breath and breathe a sigh of relief. Well done to the jogger-nauts who represented their factions and achieved their personal best. That’s what it’s all about. You all did extremely well to memorise the course over four weeks.
We started with the Year 6’s and worked our way down to the Year 3’s. Their courses were at Windermere Oval and each runner put their heart and soul into finishing the event. This year we moved the Year 2’s to Pre-Primary students to the Joondalup Schools Oval, the Colosseum of the Joondalup community. These students were in an uphill battle with the nature play area, then came down to the oval where they stayed on pace to finish the race.
Thank you to all the parents and carers that came down to support the students. It is always fantastic to have a great bunch of people around to create a positive atmosphere for the students to compete in.
A special mention to all the staff involved on the day plus Miss O’Connor and Mr Easther for leading an army of students and the Faction Captains in setting up for the event.
If you would like to compete in more cross country carnivals, please contact the Joondalup Little Athletics Centre on 0424 068 141, via e-mail admin@jlac.org.au or by visiting their website at http://www.jlac.org.au/.
Congratulations to our winners in each event.
