Room 14 have had a wonderful start to the year. We’ve had a transport theme and have read some great books such as ‘The 100 Decker Bus’, ‘The Way Back Home’ and made rockets and hot air balloons, to name a few, for our display. Our boys are all enthusiastic learners and we are looking forward to our theme for next term, Aboriginal Studies, where we’ll be reading some fantastic new books such as ‘Ernie Dances to The Didgeridoo’, by Alison Lester and ‘I Love Me’, by Sally Morgan.

We have been practising our social skills and self-care in Health as well as hygiene. We have a classroom full of enthusiastic teeth brushers and some gentle souls when bathing our doll, Charlie. Our history classes have involved learning about a significant person, so the boys did an interview with their mums and we are compiling the results into a book.

Maths is a busy time in our class and we are learning some new, big concepts. Counting out bears, recognising numbers, place, value and time are just a few of the things we’ve been investigating this term.
