Principal's Report
Kaya!
Welcome to the midway point in the term. It has been interesting and challenging at times, with many changes and adjustments to the way we normally operate. I thank you all for your support. I would like to make a special mention of our amazing School Officers, who work tirelessly to address the enormous number of queries we have had from our parent community. Kirsty Harris, Jessica Barrett and Marie Earley work collaboratively to support all of our students, parents and visitors and do this with positivity, care and extensive knowledge and experience. Thank you!
Ride to School Day and Harmony Week celebrations
A fantastic day is planned for Friday 25 March 2022. The attached information will help your child to plan to decorate their wheels for the big display on the oval.
Don’t forget to wear something orange.
COVID19
Although education support students are exempt from wearing masks while in the school environment, we are happy for you to encourage them to wear one if they would like to. You can supply a mask for your child if you would like to but this is optional and not required when at school.
I thank you all for your understanding and patience in regards to restrictions and operating guidelines that are currently in place. We continue to take direction from the Department of Education and the Department of Health when we have a student or staff member test positive to COVID-19.
Although we may hear directly from a family that a student has tested positive through a RAT (Rapid Antigen Test), we are required to wait for confirmation from the Department of Health and to follow their directions. If your child is unwell, we encourage you to keep them home and get tested. If a student becomes unwell while at school, we will contact you to collect them.
Each case is treated with confidentiality and although names of staff and students will be kept private, we will let you know which classrooms may be impacted. I thank you for understanding that the amount of information we are able to share is reliant on the information we receive from the Department of Health.
