Principal's Report
Dear Parents/Carers
WA Education Awards
The WA Education Awards presentation was held yesterday at Optus Stadium. There were 52 finalists across 13 categories.
Joondalup Education Support Centre was a finalist for the WA Primary School of the Year and yesterday, we were announced as the winner in our category.
Special thanks to Mrs Hwee Tan, School Board member, for submitting a nomination for Joondalup Education Support Centre. This was the catalyst for the events that followed, which included interviews, questionnaires and a school visit by the judging panel. Many thanks to the parents and Board members who met with the judges, your support is greatly appreciated.
Going through this process has provided a wonderful opportunity to reflect on our amazing school, our students, families and staff, all of whom contribute to our success. This accolade is for all of you and the hard work, passion and dedication of our whole school community and we thank you for your ongoing support.

Parent Morning Tea
Thank you to those who were able to attend the parent morning tea last Friday. It was well attended with approximately 20 people who had some rich conversations and made some suggestions for guest speakers in 2022. Congratulations to Mrs Rajkumar who won the Christmas raffle.
Camp Australia
Camp Australia held a parent meeting last Wednesday evening in the school staffroom. If you were not able to attend but have some questions in relation to their service, please feel free to contact them directly. It is free to register your child; in the event you may utilise their service now or in the future. The link to the Camp Australia website is Before & After School Care | OSHC | Camp Australia
P & C
Joondalup Schools P & C are looking for new members. Each year a number of dedicated parents leave the P & C as their children graduate from primary school. The baton so to speak is passed along to the next cohort of parents. If you are interested in joining the P & C or volunteering at a P & C event, please see the attached information.
Canteen
Many of you will know that Amy Daniels, our lovely canteen manager will be leaving us at the end of this year. We thank Amy for her efforts over the past 3 terms and wish her all the best for her next exciting chapter. As we approach the end of the year, Amy will be busy stocktaking, cleaning and clearing and will therefore be closing the canteen for Week 10. The last day the canteen will be operational is Friday 3 December.
Room 35 - New Transportable
The new transportable will be installed over the next few weeks, in the Junior playground area. Fencing and ground works commence today and the transportable building will be lifted by crane within the following day or two. We are hoping this will not affect morning traffic but thank you for your patience if delays occur. This is going to be quite exciting for the children and likely to tweak their interest.
Student Leadership Assembly Change
Due to the Year 6 students from the Joondalup Primary School attending their transition day to Belridge SHS, the Student Leadership assembly that was scheduled for Tuesday 7 December, has been moved to Thursday 9 December. The assembly will start at the usual time of 2pm in the undercover area and we look forward to seeing you there.
COVID-19 Update
It is anticipated that when the WA borders open towards the start of the 2022 school year, there may be an influx of COVID cases. Although unpredictable, we may find ourselves in another lockdown, resulting in a ‘learning from home’ scenario. As a school, Joondalup Education Support Centre are prepared and ready to support students and families who are learning from home, coordinate cleaning and hygiene practices and reinstate previous COVID related procedures to ensure the health and safety of our students and staff.
In the event we move to a learning from home scenario, you will receive communication through SeeSaw, Schoolzine, newseltters and emails. Please contact Kirsty Harris, School Officer to update your details if you have changed your address, email or phone number.
The Department of Education includes the following information for parents:
