Principals Report

Anna Eason.jpg

Dear Parents/Carers

I would like to say a big thank you to the staff who took our Year 6 students to camp last Wednesday through to Friday. The students had a ball doing the many fun activities the staff had organised. Planning a camp takes a great deal of organisation and commitment from the staff involved, across many months. Planning and attention to detail goes into every aspect including accommodation, travel time to and from each activity, meals, healthcare, bookings and confirmations, bus and sleeping arrangements. Thank you!

Colour Run

The P & C annual Colour Run will go ahead this Friday 5 November. All students are encouraged to wear old white or light clothing if they have it (as this looks most effective with the bursts of colour). Please do not buy clothing for this event as it is highly unlikely they will be able to be worn again. The Colour Run will begin at 1:45pm on the school oval and is always a lot of fun!

Junior Assembly

Our junior classes performed a wonderfully musical assembly last Tuesday afternoon. Congratulations to all involved for making this such a successful production!

Adventure Week

Planning for Adventure Week is being finalised and permission notes will be coming home soon. Please keep an eye on SeeSaw and check your child’s bag for the notes. Please make sure notes are signed and returned with payment as soon as possible.

Monday 6 December Seniors - The Zoo
Tuesday 7 December Juniors - The Maze
Wednesday 8 December Seniors - The Maze
Thursday 9 December Juniors - Chipmunks

Parent morning tea

Our Term 4 parent morning tea will be held on Friday 26 November at 9am. This will be a chance to discuss ideas for speakers for 2022 and will help us to know what information you would like so we can source the right person/organisation. Morning tea will be provided. Please send your rsvp to kellie.carter@education.wa.edu.au for catering purposes.

School Development Day

Dont_forget.png

Our School Development Day is on Friday 12 November 2021.  No children come to school on that day. The staff will be spending the day using teamwork to build bikes for charity.

2022 Class Planning

Class planning is underway and classroom staff are working collaboratively with Administration to create our class structures for next year. This is a lengthy process that is given a great deal of thought and consultation across staff. Many factors are considered when creating classes, including the learning, physical and social requirements of each student.

We expect this process to be completed around Week 8 or 9, ready to share with parents. Although all parent input and requests that have been communicated through teachers will be considered at length, we appreciate your understanding that it may not be possible to meet everyone’s first request. Thank you for your patience while we continue to work on this.

New Classroom

We have been successful in our submission to obtain another transportable building from the Department of Education. This transportable will become another classroom (Room 35) and will be positioned next to the storage shed in the junior playground, opposite our other junior classes. The existing sandpit will be lost but we are working on a new sandpit going in next to our seesaw. The demountable is expected to be ready for day one next year at this stage.

Year 6 Transition

Remaining transition Days for 2021 will be held on:

Term 4, Week 4, Thursday 4 November 2021, 9:30am – 2:00pm

Term 4, Week 7, Thursday 25 November 2021, 9:30am – 2:00pm

Welcome Kirsty

We’d like to say a very warm welcome to Kirsty Harris who will be joining us as our new School Officer, starting Monday 8 November 2021. Kirsty has been working at Grandis Primary School since August 2019 and we know she is going to be a wonderful addition to our administration team. Kirsty is known on campus from her previous work during Term 3, and will therefore be a familiar face.

She is replacing Kellie Carter who will be moving into another role at Joondalup ESC focusing on therapy, staff relief and ICT on campus. You will still see Kellie around!
