Principals Report
Dear Parents/Carers
Welcome back, I hope you all had a restful and enjoyable holiday break. We have a busy term ahead of us, with a number of special events including our junior assembly, Year 6 Camp, Colour Run, parent morning tea, Adventure Week, Year 6 Graduation and end of year reports. Please keep an eye on the newsletters for information as it arises.
Natalie Hatton has commenced her 15 month leave and I am excited to fill her role during this time. There is planning underway to fill my usual Associate Principal role and this is expected to commence from Week 5.
STEM
Last term we said goodbye and good luck to Mr Notarianni as he and his family are relocating back home to the UK. We thank Mr Not for his hard work and enthusiasm in delivering our STEM program. We are also excited to introduce and welcome Heidi Brough, who has joined us from Bullsbrook, to the role of STEM teacher.
Junior Assembly
Our junior classes have been busy rehearsing for our next assembly, that will go ahead next Tuesday 26 October from 2pm in the undercover area.
Parent Morning Tea
Our Term 4 parent morning tea is scheduled for Friday 26 November at 9am. This will be a chance to discuss ideas for speakers for 2022 and will help us to know what information you would like so we can source the right person/ organisation. Morning tea will be provided and we look forward to seeing you there!

Don’t forget that the School Development Day is on Friday 12 November 2021. No children come to school on that day.
Year 6 Camp
Next week, our Year 6 students will have the opportunity to attend camp at Keith Maine Centre from Wednesday 27th to Friday the 29th October. Activities will include the flying fox, team building games, bowling, mini golf, bushwalking and Scitech. All attending students will be leaving on the bus at 9.30am on Wednesday and returning at approximately 2.00pm on Friday.
2022 Class Planning
Class planning is in the early stages and classroom staff are working collaboratively with Administration to create our class structures for next year. This is a lengthy process that is given a great deal of thought and consultation across staff. Many factors are considered when creating classes, including the learning, physical and social requirements of each student. We expect this process to be completed around Week 8 or 9, ready to share with parents. Although all parent input and requests that have been communicated through teachers will be considered at length, we appreciate your understanding that it may not be possible to meet everyone’s first request. Thank you for your patience while we continue to work on this.
School grounds update
Whilst it is still a few weeks away, the new playground next to the basketball court is attracting a lot of interest! We are waiting for the softfall to be installed around the base before the fencing comes down. New slides on the bank in Nature Play and a decked seating area around the tree on the oval are also very popular additions. The space between Admin and B Block is being converted into a new seating area with benches and pathways, while keeping the long standing tree for shade. Some smaller landscaping projects are also underway, making our play spaces more appealing.
