A Very Busy Term in Room 2

Term 3 has been a very busy term in Room 2.

We have started Term 3 using our mapping skills to find some of the countries that competed in the Olympic Games in Tokyo. It was exciting to see the athletes from Australia swimming, running, and playing team sports. The athletes were happy when they achieved their personal best efforts, and some won medals. We know that Japan is a country made up of islands and Tokyo is a very big city where many people live. The people eat some foods that we have not eaten. We learnt that the colours of the Olympic Rings and the white background of the Olympic flag represent those colours found on the flags of the competing countries.

We have started to practise our running and team games for our Faction Carnival.

It has been fun to read the book Scrambled Egg by Wendy Binks. This is a book about Australian animals. In the story the animal characters and the places they live have some funny names. Stripey, Leggy, Blue and Socks learn why you need to keep moving at Don’t-Stand-Still-Hill. We all discovered that birds are not the only animals that lay eggs. Do you know what animal has a baby called a puggle? We used puppets to help us retell the story.
