Sports Crazy in Room 16
It’s been an exciting term for Room 16! We have been participating in the quadrennial, Room 16 Olympic games. Students have been competing head to head in games of strength, skill and intelligence. We started with our very own torch relay and opening ceremony, which was officiated by Miss Hatton. We then continued onto two weeks of games. Games such as cup stacking and shoot the sheriff were particularly exciting for our students, and created a fun learning environment. Students received medals for winning the events which were displayed on our very own medal tally. Congratulations to each student for their effort in the games!
Our year 6 students also embarked on their first day of transition to Belridge Education Support Centre. There we met new teachers from Belridge and students from other schools. Mrs Hutchings, took us on a tour of the school, which was huge! We saw the classrooms in which we’ll be learning in, the woodwork room, cooking room and many more. Recess was particularly fun, where they had different games such as totem tennis and basketball set up for us. Our favourite thing however was when we got to see all our old friends from last year! We miss them and can’t wait to see them again in week 9.

Finally, we are currently preparing for the ESC Combined Sports Carnival. We will be participating with students from several schools such as Creaney ESC, Beldon ESC and Westminster ESC. We love competing in sports such as the beanbag relay and vortex throw. We are training hard in sport and hope to do well on the day.
