We have had a wonderful start to Term 3 in Room 3!

Our topic for Term 3 in HASS is Geography. We are learning about how weather (e.g. rainfall, temperature, sunshine, wind) and seasons vary between places and the terms used to describe them.

Our first lesson was learning about temperature. We made some yummy hot and cold chocolates (with marshmallows and ice-cream of course!).The hot chocolate was a great treat to warm up our cold bodies and was definitely a favourite!

We are learning to identify typical weather by using at least two adjectives to describe each season. We can identify and label the weather by selecting two adjectives represented by pictures to record daily weather conditions. Here we are using sensory bottles to help us label and categorise “hot” and “cold”.

Last week we were lucky enough to catch some beautiful sunshine and warmth one afternoon and were quick to take the opportunity to read some of our favourite books under a tree with our friends.

Room 3 are looking forward to the weather turning hot and sunny, and saying goodbye to the freezing cold!
