It has been a very wet and windy start to Term 3 but Room 23 have already been working hard and learning lots.  

We have been busy reading our first story of the term. This term we are doing an author study of Eric Carle and our first story we are reading from this author is, ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’.  We have read the story multiple times and completed some fun craft activities to create props to act out the story. Then as a class we created a story map which we can use to retell the story.

In the story, ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ eats lots of different types of food such as an ice cream cone. So, we created our own Ice Cream Parlour in our dramatic play corner in the classroom. We are having lots of fun acting out working in an ice cream shop and have enjoyed playing with all the props whilst practicing sharing and turn taking.

We are looking forward to another great term in Room 23.
