Artists at Work
Cats
The students in Room 22 listened to the story of "Cat and Fish go to see" by Joan Grant while viewing the great artwork by illustrator Neil Curtis. The illustrator has used the principle of contrast, with black and white pictures throughout the book. The students created their own collage cats in newspaper and felt pen.

Pizza
The students in Room 22 listened to the story "The Little Red Hen Makes Pizza". Working with the focus on the elements of form, colour and texture they created a sculpture of pizza on a plate.

Landscape
The element of Space was the focus for this piece of artwork. The students in Room 1 worked with techniques to create space on the page. They are size, colour, overlapping, higher up the page and detail.

Bags
The students attending Visual Arts created a Bag. This was a long term project involving many different elements. They drew a poppy and cut out a paper stencil. The poppy was silk screened onto calico. Puff paint was added to the centres of the flowers. Fabric crayons were used to make leaf rubbings. Most students then used the sewing machines to stitch the cushion cover up. An insect or spider was drawn and transferred onto the cushion cover using an iron on transfer. Fabric was plaited to create a handle and sewn on.
