Exploring Caversham Wildlife Park with Room 14
Throughout Term 2, Room 14 have been learning about farms through books, interactive learning experiences and hands on play. What better way to finish our theme than a trip to Caversham Wildlife Park, where you can walk amongst the farm animals at Molly’s Farm.
We started our day with a bus ride and a few rounds of ‘Old MacDonald’ to get us in the mood! We enjoyed recess surrounded by black cockatoos then made our way to the farm show. Rusty, the kelpie showed us his herding skills, we saw lambs being fed, tails wiggling throughout, then the farmer showed his whip cracking skills! He gave a sheep a haircut then we all milked a cow! She was so patient. We went into the area with all the goats (who wanted to eat our PODD books!), chickens, a highland cow and horses, and had fun stroking the baby goats and having photos with the donkey and all the other animals.

We couldn’t go to Caversham and not feed the kangaroos, which we all loved, then had a picnic lunch and went to see the koalas. A well-deserved ice lolly and we were at the end of our day. It was so much fun that we were all ready for bed by the time we got back to school!
