Room 28 has been extremely busy over the last few weeks. During our classroom literacy this term, we have been focusing on the story of Little Red Riding Hood. We have completed many activities as part of Talk for Writing such as story mapping, acting out the story using story spoons, puppets, and dress ups, decorating Granny’s cottage and creating our own versions of the story. We have had so much fun coming up with funny stories and exploring different language features.

During our history lessons, we have been exploring families and celebrations. Students in room 28 investigated how they, their family and friends celebrate events that are important to them. They have shared experiences of family, school and community events that are celebrated. We have celebrated lots of birthdays recently.

We also have some special pets in our classroom at the moment. We have been exploring what stick insects are and have had a lot of fun learning special facts about them from our class mate Koby.
