This term in Kindy we have been learning all about Australian animals. We loved reading Wombat Stew and mixing up an ooey, gooey, crunchy, munchy stew! We added feathers, mud, gumnuts and even bugs and grubs.

We also read an Aboriginal Dream Time story of Tiddalick the Frog, and how he drank all of the water in the billabong. The other animals then tried to make Tiddalick laugh to have the water back, but it didn’t work. Finally, eel’s silly dancing and tying himself up in knots made Tiddalick laugh and release the water, and he promised never to take the water again. After reading we talked about what we might do to make Tiddalick laugh, and then we made our own Tiddalick’s.

We have had a fantastic term together and can’t wait to learn even more next term!
