It has been a fun and full fortnight at Joondalup, our students and staff have had many events on.

Dinner Under the Stars

Last Monday a group of students prepared a 7 course degustation dinner for families and teachers at Beldon Education Support Centre through the Stephanie Alexander Program. Year 4 and 5 students in the program worked with an award winning chef to prepare the courses for the evening. The entire evening was outstanding, and the dinner can only be described as fine dining. Students (and staff) worked super hard the entire evening to host a dinner for 40 guests.

Book Week

Last week we also celebrated Book Week. Activities were planned throughout the week and students joined  in activities throughout lunch all around the school. On Wednesday the entire campus dressed up as their favourite character. Everyone looked fabulous, and we had a special assembly and everyone got to show each other what they were wearing.

Yr 6. Transition 

Year 6 students commenced transition to Belridge Secondary Education Support centre again this term. Students attending next year meet students from other schools who will also be going to Belridge SESC. It is a time to get to know others going to the school next year, and tour all the facilities and join in some activities in preparation for high school.

Parent Morning Tea 

We had a parent morning tea last Friday. It was a very cosy morning with a small turn out, but a lovely conversation was had. Our next parent morning tea will be held on Friday 4 December.

School Review

Last week we had our school review. It was a very positive experience, and parents, community members and staff shared what we do with the reviewers and told the story of Joondalup ESC. We will receive a formal report from our review, which will be published on our website, and the Schools’ Online website. The report will contain commendations and some recommendations. We are expecting to receive the report this week.

Notes Home to Families

Lots of notes have gone home to families this week. School photos will be next Tuesday and Thursday (depending on class) and graduation photos will be held on Thursday. Please ensure your child is in full school uniform for school photo day. Year 6 students can wear graduation shirts.

Notes have also gone home regarding Adventure week. This year senior and junior students will be attending Outback Splash on different days. Please sign and return forms together with payment when you can. If you have any questions about the excursions, please let me know.
