Principals Report
Welcome back everyone
Term four is always a busy term, and this year will be no exception. Families will receive notes home for adventure week soon, as well as information about next year. Our Yr.6 students are preparing for high school, and graduation will be held on Tuesday 15 December.
Adventure week will be held in Week 9 and the agenda is;
Monday | Yr.6 Students | Latitude ( with JPS Yr.6 students) |
Senior Students | Perth Zoo | |
Tuesday | Junior Students | Outback Splash |
Wednesday | Senior Students | Outback Splash |
Thursday | Junior Students | Lollipops Play Centre & Neil Hawkins Park |
Friday | Whole School | Christmas Assembly |
Unfortunately we will not have a lunch or water play on Friday as we are unsure of any further COVID restrictions.
Assemblies and Graduation
Current COVID restrictions are still in place for families wishing to attend assemblies. One family member only can be present during assembly.
Understandably parents would like clarification on what this will mean for Yr.6 students graduating. The two schools are currently working together to formulate a safe plan to ensure that families and friends will be able to watch the Yr.6 Graduation ceremony.
School Review
On Tuesday this week both Joondalup Education Support Centre and Joondalup Primary School engaged in a school review. This is the first review we have had since 2016. A number of parents, Board members, community members and staff met with the reviewers to discuss our school journey. I would like to thank all those who have contributed to the review by providing feedback, collating information or being part of the process on the day.
A formal report will be written by the reviewers in the coming weeks which will be shared with the school community and will be on our website.
Book Week – next week
We will be celebrating Book Week all next week! Next Wednesday is a whole school dress up day where students can come as their favourite character.
Throughout the week there will be activities set up at recess and lunch times for students to engage in around the school if they wish to. There will also be a colouring in competition, and special whole campus get together to show off our outfits on Wednesday!
Staff Development Day – Friday 6th November
A reminder to all families that there will be no school on Friday 6 November. This is a staff development day. No staff from our school will be on site on this day. School returns on Monday 9November.
