Natural Art with Room 26
Creative Nature Art
This term students have been creating artistic pieces of work using nuts, seeds, leaves and pieces of Australian bush. A favourite choice was to create an animal which was a lot of fun!
A set project was to make a game of ‘Noughts and Crosses’ which we called ‘Hugs and Kisses’. To go with this game a set of two coasters were also created so a relaxing drink could be had during the game!
Then of course the students had to practise playing the game so they could face any worthy opponent! This was taken very seriously and James can be seen playing two opponents at once.
This has been a fun art project!

Science Week
Science Week this year was all about learning about our oceans and how we can help to look after them. The students in Room 26 studied the ocean zones and learned that there are three, the Sunlight Zone, the Twilight Zone and the Midnight Zone. Much fun was had sorting the animals into the zones they lived in and discussing why they looked different.
The students made tubular models of the ocean zones and sorted animals into their natural habitats. They also made a Triorama of the Sunlight Zone.
Of course no week could go by studying the ocean without thinking about fish and chips! So Fish Nuggets and Gluten free chips were on the lunch menu for that Wednesday. We used out maths skills to share out the nuggets and work out how many each person would get.
And then we had seaweed tasting time! As you can see in the photos this was not a big hit with James, Isabelle or Tristan. In fact only Jacinta and Ms Read liked it so they got to eat all the yummy seaweed!
