Swimming Lessons
Swimming lessons commence next week! We have two swimming sessions. Rooms 16, 21, 22, 25, 2 and 3 have swimming lessons from 9:10am – 9:50am. Parents of students in these classes have the opportunity to drop their children directly to HBF Arena in their bathers rather than at school. Staff will be at the swimming pool waiting for families who take up this option. For students who are coming to school the bus will leave at 8:50am sharp. For parents who arrive after this time you will be asked to drive your child to HBF Arena so they don’t miss out on swimming lessons.
Rooms 1,26,27,7 and 9 have lessons from 10:00am – 10:40am. Students from these classes are to be dropped at school as per usual. Families are welcome to come to the pool and watch your child swim. Students are to be in their bathers when they arrive at school/swimming pool. Please ensure you label all towels, goggles, uniforms etc.
Kiss and Drive
The campus are receiving an increasing number of complaints from families who are trying to access the Kiss and Drive, only to find that cars have parked in this area and drivers have left their car. The Kiss and Drive is not a place to park your car and walk onto the school grounds. The campus are working on strategies to alleviate congestion in this area. If you are a parent who uses the Kiss and Drive bays please be courteous of others.
Pet Dogs on School Grounds
Many students walk to school and often families may walk with the family dog. As a campus we would like families to continue to walk to school and bring their dog if they wish. Here is a small reminder of our guidelines;
- Dogs need to be on a leash and controlled by an adult at all times.
- Be courteous, do not take your dog near students and other parents as some people are fearful or allergic to dogs.
- Ensure your dog is calm and not barking at all times and in any situation.
- Dogs are not to be taken inside any buildings – Classrooms, Wet Areas, Office.
- If you are not following the guidelines, you will be asked to remove your dog from the school premises.
ANZAC Ceremony
The ANZAC Commemorative Ceremony was once again an outstanding tribute to the men and women who founded the ANZAC tradition over 100 years ago on the Gallipoli Peninsula in Turkey and then on the Western Front in Europe. It was great to see so many residents from Brightwater, parents and relatives attending the ceremony. Having the commemorative ceremony at the end of the day allowed more parents and families to attend. Your support for the ANZAC tradition and the school is greatly valued. I would like to thank Miss Mercer, Miss O’Connor, Mrs Butler, the Choir, the Year 6 students and everyone who assisted in making the ceremony such a memorable experience.
Book Fair
Our Book Fair has been a tremendous success this week. The students have thoroughly enjoyed the week and the displays were so eye catching and stimulating. I would like to extend a big thank you to Mrs Fletcher and staff for their help in running the Book Fair throughout the week.

The students of Room 3 have had a productive first week back this Term in all learning areas. We have had some really positive learning outcomes when engaging in hands-on activities. The students have enjoyed participating in a range of activities and have been developing their independent skills.
Our next Morning Tea will be on Friday the 28th of June. We are hoping to have a guest speaker from Carer's WA join us.
On Monday students participated in an Indonesian Music Incursion. Students were given the opportunity to listen to and then play some traditional Indonesian musical instruments.

We got to see some splints and bandages, the big stretcher that goes in the back, and Lisa even turned on the lights and siren for us! We all had a wonderful time.
