COVID19 – UDATE
Thank you to families and the community for being supportive during this time, minimising movements around the school and wearing a mask. Students have returned this week ready to learn, and have become used to seeing staff, families and therapists wearing masks throughout the day.
A letter will be coming home with your child tonight, a link is below.
Coronavirus Update 30 April 2021
Assembly will go ahead next week, please keep in mind if you are sitting close to each other please wear a mask, however if you can socially distance you are not required to wear a mask as this is an outdoor event.

School Photos
Our school photos have been postponed due to current COVID restrictions. We have rescheduled photos to be during Week 2 of Term 3, specifically Tuesday 27 July and Thursday 29 July. A detailed schedule will come out closer to the date.
School Development Day
On Friday our staff attended a conference at the Perth Convention Centre together with 800 other educators from Education Support Schools and Centres in the North Metropolitan Region. The conference focused on educating students with disabilities and a number of key note speakers and concurrent sessions were held.
We were very lucky to be able to complete the day just prior to having to wear masks.
Easter Raffle
Thank you to our school community for supporting the P&C for their Easter Raffle. They have raised the amazing amount of $1182.40 for our schools.Parent morning and tea
We are hosting a morning tea on Friday 14 May, and everyone is encouraged to come. We have a guest speaker from Carer’s WA who will be coming along to share insights about what is available for families, how to access it and also to answer questions from families.

APM Prepare for Review Sessions
APM are providing face-to-face and virtual Prepare for Review sessions to support families with the plan review process. Each session discusses the same information and take no longer than an hour. Please click on the link below and select the session you’d like to attend at a time that suits you. You can attend more than one session if you want to hear information again. Children Aged 0-7 years old
Wanslea are the NDIS Partner in the Community for Early Childhood Early Intervention supports (APM work with individuals from 7-65 years old. Walking around the school after the holidays you may have noticed soime improvements that are completed or in progress. We have installed new steps between D and E Block as well as ramp. A new ramp is has also been finalised at the bike ramp in the junior playground.
New covered walkways have been installed to our Kindy and Sustainability classroom.
AquaBubblers have continued to be installed through out the school, kitchens have been updated in E Block.

Secca - Relationships Education Workshop
Highly interactive, strategy based content covering dating, healthy relationships, consent, rejection and break ups as well as general tips for talking about all of these topics
The workshop was developed to support educators with practical suggestions they can use outside of the workshop and in their role to feel supported, equipped and confident as to where they can find more assistance if needed.
Sexuality and Relationships Education best practice guidelines are introduced as well as comprehensive and age appropriate content.
This Workshop is for parents, carers, students, teachers and health professionals. There is a limit of 3 participants from the same organisation.
This is a full day workshop and is catered for morning tea and lunch. Please bring your own water bottle.

United Reds Football League
For the upcoming winter season, the United Reds Football League is recruiting players now! Giving all children the opportunity to join a local club and have a sense of belonging. In partnership with the Manchester United Foundation, Football West, Telethon and Inclusion Solutions, the league embodies the values of - Respect, Inclusion, Fairness and Fun. Teams consist of kids aged 8-12 with and without disabilities playing in a development-focused environment with games every fortnight and training weekly, ensuring everyone can enjoy the thrill of football/soccer. ALL children, especially children with disabilities are welcome.

City of Joondalup - Free Book Week Program
The City of Joondalup is pleased to inform you of our free Children’s Book Week Program for schools. This year Children’s Book Week will be held over two weeks in August. The theme is Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds, and events will be held from Saturday 14 August to Friday 27 August 2021.
The program can be found on our website. This details all activities that will be available to schools during this time at the City of Joondalup Libraries. We would appreciate your assistance in circulating this information to appropriate staff.
